Date Night movieDate Night opens with The Ramones’ ‘Blitzkrieg Bop’ playing, which right away gave me a bad feeling about this movie. Not that I don’t like the song, I love it, but it has no business in a romantic comedy.

Steve Carrell and Tina Fey play a couple in a marriage crisis who find themselves mixed up in a sticky situation after a case of mistaken identity. What follows is a series of wacky and unrealistic events and mild attempts at relationship comedy.

The best parts about this movie to me were the cameos. Kristen Wiig, Mark Ruffalo, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and James Franco all have minor roles in the film. They provide the funniest scenes and keep the movie going.

The rest of the film was enjoyable for me. The humor was ok, but some unfunny jokes ran on and most of the dialog between our couple was plain silly. I didn’t hate Date Night, but it didn’t blow me away either. There were a couple laugh out loud moments, and it at least keeps you watching all the way through.
