Drag Me to Hell (2009)
Aug 28th
I’ll be honest and say the trailer didn’t impress me, but being that its directed by Sam Raimi and got good reviews, I knew I had to watch it. It did not disappoint! Don’t be dissuaded by the PG-13 rating, though there’s not much extreme gore or heavy language, there’s plenty of grotesque and simply disturbing scenes that will have you reaching for the barf bag (you’ll never look at denture wearing grannies the same again). The story is fairly original and the lead actress is very likeable. Hopefully this film will revive good horror films, as it does an More >

Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009)
May 19th
5/19/2009
Starring and co-written by Kevin James, Mall Cop promised to be the comedy to kick off 2009. What we ended up with was a film nothing short of a made-for-TV Disney movie. That is not necessarily a bad thing, however.
The movie has it’s moments, enough to have you watching to the end; so we’re off to a good start so far. My main gripe with this movie however is not its overall entertainment value, but Kevin James. I’ve been a longtime KOQ fan (hmm..should rethink using that acronym) and James fit that role perfectly. As Paul More >

Wilby Wonderful, written and directed by Daniel Maclvor is set in the small island town of Wilby, where the citizens prefer only the company of their own.
The story focuses on the townspeople’s urge to rid the island of pesky mainlanders (i.e. gays and sexual deviants), which includes much conspiracy among the authorities including the mayor (Maury Chaykin). Officer Buddy French (Paul Gross) on the other hand see’s no problem with the town as it is and seeks to uncover the conspiracy.
