Upon finally finishing the reading of Thunder and Ashes, the second book in the late Z.A. Recht’s The Morningstar Strain saga, I was on such a rush that it led me to scurry around seeking information on the release of the final novel. Upon my surprise I found that Survivors, the final novel that Recht was working on until his untimely death, is being released on June 19th, 2012. Pre-orders are available below. Grab it, along with the other two books in the series, if you are any kind of zombie or apocalypse fan.

Sure, I’m not the typical reader you’d expect to be into author Lauren Kate’s Fallen series, but her first book Fallen, which I picked up on a whim (mainly after reading about the potential movie adaptations), has led me back into reading and the series has since become a an integral part of my book-related updates. I’ve been getting great responses on my reviews of the first two books, and I have no plans of not finishing the lot.

With that said, Fallen fans will be pleased to hear that the release date of the next installment, entitled Passion, will hit stores on June 14, 2011 (pre-orders available below). In an e-mail from Lauren Kate herself, she hinted that in Passion she “will be writing a prequel to explain some of the things that have happened before the narrative of Fallen began.” So there you have it, hopefully this next release will answer many of our questions about the history of Daniel and Luce which we’ve only been given a taste of in the first two books.

“Torment”, the next installment in Lauren Kate’s “Fallen” book series is set for a September 28th release date of this year. While we’re waiting, we can feast our eyes on the gorgeous new cover of the upcoming novel! Pre-orders for the book are now available on Amazon (see link below).

UPDATE: I would also like to take the time to address some discrepancies about Disney releasing the movie version. The movie will NOT be branded under the Disney name, it will be under Mayhem Productions. While Disney is the parent company, I don’t believe we’ll necessarily get typical Disney material (although it’s too early to tell at this point). Hope that clears things up a bit.
