TV director Steve Shill takes a stab at feature films with Obsessed, starring Beyoncé Knowles, Idris Elba, and Ali Larter. The story follows a successful man named Darek (Elba) and his wife (Knowles) along with their new child. Darek gains the attention of a new (and quite attractive) temp worker (Larter) and her infatuation unfolds. The writing, by David Loughery (Passenger 57), is mainly what drags this film down. Let’s face it, most romantic comedies these days follow a cookie-cutter approach that involves almost the same scenarios, a level of predictability, and just slight twists to make them not seem as complete rip-offs of each other. Every red-blooded American male is more than familiar with the name Megan Fox. The Transformers beauty is without a doubt one of the most popular sex symbols and up-and-coming stars today.
