Year One (2009)
Sep 29th
Review date: 29-Sept.-2009
Harold Ramis’ “Year One” didn’t quite receive a great response at its initial release. While it was no comedy of epic proportions, it did not fail to deliver either. The reviews and low online scores don’t really do this film justice. The duo of Jack Black and Michael Cera are non-stop hilarious. The movie is chock-full of mindless humor involving a modern take of prehistory. While it’s no movie of the year, I enjoyed this movie and got some great laughs out of it.

So what happens when a group of three best friends discover that time travel is possible? The answer is hilariousness. “FAQ About Time Travel” is a non-stop funny sci-fi (err, Science Fiction) adventure about three lads that discover a leak in time through the men’s restroom. I was not expecting too much from this, however it ended up being a pleasant surprise. Being a new fan of the show “The IT Crowd” it was nice to see Chris O’Dowd in another role, and having Anna Faris was a surprising choice but ended up being a perfect one. Being More >

aka The Grocer’s Son
Review date: 25-Sept-2009
Le fils de l’épicier (“The Grocer’s Son”) takes the viewer on a beautiful adventure across the French countryside. The main character, Antoine (Nicolas Cazale), ventures back to the small rural town where he grew up when his father becomes ill. The trip home is not so much a pleasant one however, as we see signs of some tension between the family. To spice things up, Antoine’s beautiful neighbor Claire (Clotilde Hesme) comes along for the ride to get some fresh air while studying to get into college.
The film has some truly gorgeous scenes that make More >
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009)

Let’s be real here, it’s a movie based on toys, so don’t expect an epic action film. Have realistic expectations and this film will blow you away. The kids will absolutely love this, and the inner child in everyone will have a blast watching this movie. GI Joe is an entertaining experience that will not leave you bored.
