Harold Ramis’ “Year One” didn’t quite receive a great response at its initial release. While it was no comedy of epic proportions, it did not fail to deliver either. The reviews and low online scores don’t really do this film justice. The duo of Jack Black and Michael Cera are non-stop hilarious. The movie is chock-full of mindless humor involving a modern take of prehistory. While it’s no movie of the year, I enjoyed this movie and got some great laughs out of it.

Some films are so bad they are entertaining, while others are intentionally bad which makes them good. Monsters Marriage and Murder in Manchvegas lies somewhere in between the two. What immediately sticks out with this film is the script. The dialog is unnatural and over-descriptive, almost like the characters are narrating which makes it flat out comical. The film is shot on film with plenty of graininess, adding to the wackiness of this picture. So what happens when a group of three best friends discover that time travel is possible? Arlen Faber, played by Jeff Daniels, is an acclaimed spiritual author who’s success is derived from a book of his conversations with God.
